Forest of Arden - October 2009

With four rounds of match play ahead of them last weekend, the challenge was on for Ian & Steve when they set off down to the Forest of Arden for the finals of the 2009 Foursomes Championship.

The first round was a real tester as they found themselves 3 down with 6 to play.

Amazingly they regrouped, got it back to "all square" and won on the first play off hole.

They were through to the "quarters" which they won 4 and 3 to cap off an incredible roller coaster first day of championship golf.

So it was off to bed for a mug of horlicks and an early night

Day 2 - semi final - another 4 and 3 win for the Beacon pair and the Championship was now definitely becoming a real possibility.

A light lunch and they were back on the 1st tee with just one more hurdle to overcome.

It was all over by the 12th - they won by a staggering 8 and 6!!!!
