We run our own Poker League at Beacon Park and you are welcome to join us.


Weekly

Entry is £3 per seat including supper. Those who wish to participate in a cash game are free so to do, with the restriction that the maximum buy in will be £5 with no top ups.

Every player will be registered and have their own registration card and ID number – please bring these cards with you when registering for a game. Each week, 8.30pm start (7.30pm during the winter months) on Thursdays, the top 10 players will be awarded points on the basis of 100 points for the winner down to 55 points for the tenth place finisher, with a 5 point differential for each place.

Every player in attendance on the night will receive 25 points as an “attendance bonus”. ie

Winner 100 + 25 = 125 points

Second 95 + 25 = 120 points

Third 90 + 25 = 115 points

Tenth 55 + 25 = 80 points

Wooden Spoon (first out) zero + 25 = 25 points

A league table will be established with points accumulated over each 13 week period.

This system will keep the maximum number of people involved in the quarterly league and should make the last couple of weeks of each period mega exciting.

In addition, quarterly league points will accumulate towards an annual cumulative points total to establish qualification for the end of year "Player of the Year" finale.

Quarterly

Each quarter the top ten players with the most accumulated points over the 13 week period will be invited to play in a quarterly eliminator for a prize pot equivalent to 75p for every person who has played at the venue over the 13 week period eg:

20 players per week x 13 weeks x 75p = £195 prize pool

25 players per week x 13 weeks x 75p = £245 prize pool

With the top four players receiving a cash prize:

1st – 50%

2nd – 30%

3rd – 15%

4th – 5%

The top ten players from each quarterly qualifying event will also be awarded "Quarterly Bonus" points as follows:

1st – 1000 points

2nd – 900 points

3rd – 800 points

4th – 700 points

5th – 600 points

6th – 500 points

7th – 400 points

8th – 300 points

9th – 200 points

10th – 100 points

These points will be added to their cumulative annual league points for the purposes of qualification for the annual "Player of the Year" finale.

These quarterly events will be held on the first available Saturday after the end of the quarter at 8.00pm here at Beacon Park.

Annually

The 16 players with the most accumulated attendance, merit and quarterly bonus points at the end of each calendar year will be invited to join into an annual “Play Off” to establish our “BPPL Hold ‘em Player of the Year”.

Those 16 players will meet on the third Sunday in February annually at 1.00pm here at Beacon Park and will play for a pot equivalent to 50p for every player who has played over the preceeding 12 months eg:

20 players per week x 13 weeks x 4 x 50p = £520 prize pool

25 players per week x 13 weeks x 4 x 50p = £650 prize pool

With the top four players receiving a cash prize:

1st – 50%

2nd – 30%

3rd – 15%

4th – 5%

Each player will commence the "Finale" with the number of chips equivalent to the number of points that they had accumulated in the Annual League.

Player of the Year

The overall winner and “Player of the Year” will receive a solid silver BPPL bracelet to commemorate their success.
